This activity introduces the idea of resolution, how to calculate resolution, and binning.

 

Activity 2: Past Missions and Regions of Mars (9 pgs, 1.6 Mb)

This activity teaches students the geography of Mars, about previous missions to Mars, and the tradeoffs between context images and high-resolution images.

 

Activity 3: Geologic Features on Mars (5 pgs, 416 Kb)

This activity shows students images of different geologic features on Earth and then challenges them to do a scavenger hunt for similar features on Mars.

 

Activity 4: Suggest a target for HiRISE! (2 pgs, 48 Kb)

Guides students through the suggestion of a HiRISE target, to be done individually or as a class.
